Deputy Managing Director of the Bulk Oil and Storage Transportation (BOST), Moses Asem is expected to face the Ashiaman Motor court on Monday after he was arrested Saturday for abuse of siren.
He was using a siren in his V8 to escape the traffic congestion on the Dawhenya highway in the Greater Accra Region.
Mr. Asem who is a former District Chief Executive (DCE) for North Tongu was arrested with 28 other offending drivers Saturday.
He was also unable to produce his license at the time of his arrest.
Clearance from National Security
The Deputy BOST MD told the Police he had clearance from National Security. He was however unable to provide evidence to that effect.
He pleaded with the Police to let him go with the excuse that he had the donations to a funeral he was attending on him hence his use of siren to beat traffic.
The Deputy BOST MD was given the position barely three months ago.
However, a public relations officer at the Ghana Police Headquarters, ASP Simon Tenkuu said the service is bent on enforcing traffic laws on the road to ensure free flow of traffic on that stretch.
