Deputy Minister of local government in charge of Agricultural and Rural Development has charged MMDCEs not to be armchair Executives but be proactive in executing the government’s development agenda and monitoring same.
He spoke during his accountability tour of the Ashanti Region.
Hon. Augustine Collins Ntim, who also doubles as Member of Parliament for Offinso North also condemned MMDCEs who look on for illegal structures to spring up before embarking on a demolition exercise. He stressed that that approach is not the best and should be avoided.
He visited the Bosomtwe District and Asokore Mampong Municipality to assess their performance and encourage them to give off their best.
DCE for Bosomtwe; Joseph Asuming touched on teenage pregnancy which he said had become a cankerworm in the district. He promised to intensify education campaigns to help reduce the incidence of teenage pregnancy to the barest minimum.
He also requested construction equipment from the ministry to help in the shaping of sub roads within the district.
