The National Commission for Civic Education is entreating all Ghanaians to participate actively in the forthcoming District level elections. This, they say is particularly important because the referendum on the election of MMDCEs has been attached to this year’s elections.
National Director for the NCCE; Madam Josephine Nkrumah who spoke to www.rawgist.com at the launch of an Education and Awareness creation campaign on the 2019 District Level Election and Referendum held at the Anglican Senior High School decried low turnout in previous district level elections.
She explained that the district level elections are extremely important to Ghana’s democracy and should be taken seriously by all.
Madam Nkrumah reiterated that this year’s District Level elections has been scheduled for 17th December, 2019. She also beseeched Ghanaians to come out in their numbers to vote in other to obtain the 40% turnout needed to validate the referendum.
