Political scientist at the Spiritan University at Ejisu-Ashanti, Dr.Kofi Owusu Yeboah says striking doctors deserve their conditions of service.
‘‘If politicians receive conditions of service such as fuel allowances, payment of garden boys, drivers and even shoe allowances then the doctors also deserve theirs’’, he opines.
Members of the GMA insist they will not return to work unless government provides them with conditions of service.
President John Dramani Mahama however also insists the decision by aggrieved doctors to strike is “illegal” and “does not make sense.”
However speaking on royal fm, Dr. Kofi Owusu Yeboah noted that ‘‘sometimes serial callers are even given their conditions of service by their various political parties in various forms as encouragement”.
He noted that although he does not support their action, the doctors deserve their conditions of service for the application of their knowledge to save lives.
He also blames the entire leadership of the country as the cause of the current development. He noted that conditions of service should have been part of the labour laws since it is one of the prime factors to consider before one is employed.
