The General Overseer of Calvary Charismatic Center (CCC), Reverend Ransford Obeng has admonished ministers of the gospel to consciously strive to project Christ Jesus in their sermons.
Sermons that seek to project one who is ministering as if all power resided in him is not biblical but a demonstration of wayward Christianity, the servant of the Lord stressed.
Speaking at the recent Good Friday service in Kumasi, Reverend Obeng said the mandate on ministers of the gospel was simple and that is to project Christ as Lord of life and nothing else.
The CCC leader noted that Christ Jesus by virtue of his life, death and resurrection is to be projected as the object of worship and subject of the Christian faith.
‘’We as ministers of the gospel are to do one thing when we mount the podium to preach and that is to magnify the name of Christ and the power of his resurrection to the congregation God has given us and nothing else’’, Rev Obeng intimated.
DECEPTION:
Cautioning the church, Reverend Obeng said the attitude where ministers of the gospel project and magnify objects and tokens as the source of power is idolatry worship.
The name of Jesus, the veteran minister of the gospel noted is sufficient and loaded to perform every miracle one wants to see.
Reverend Obeng said the Christian faith is enveloped in one man and that man is Christ Jesus, adding all power has been given to that name to respond to every plea from men.
The projection of anointing oil, wrist bands, special water and the likes are only a show of idolatry in the Church, Rev Obeng stressed passionately.
‘’The name of JESUS is all-powerful and it is the only name given unto men to be saved and to live righteous lives’’, the CCC leader posited.
POWER OF THE CROSS:
Educating the congregation on the power of the cross of Calvary, Rev Obeng said the death of Christ on the cross is not a tale or mere story.
According to him, there are manifold evidences of the event as portrayed by the Holy Bible, adding everything that is written in God’s word is factual and a record of history.
He noted that anyone who believes Christ Jesus was born, lived on earth, died and resurrected on the third day has salvation.
Rev Obeng urged Christians to live out their confession and faith as they allow the Holy Spirit to use them to affect the lives of people who are yet to confess Christ Jesus as their savior and Lord.
