Corporate affairs Executive of MTN; Mrs. Cynthia Lumor has dismissed claims that MTN pilfers customers’ air time.
She explains that MTN is not interested in taking customers’ airtime unnecessarily but rather looks for ways to give them more value.
Speaking at a meeting with editors of selected media houses within the Ashanti region, Madam Lumor explained that many of the customers do not take time to understand the settings on their phones and social media applications hence the significant loss of airtime.
She advised users of social media to check their settings and switch off automatic updates and automatic downloads. She explains that these downloads and updates in themselves don’t look like much but when combined consumes a lot of data.
She also urged strongly that customers guard against Mobile Money fraud. “ Do not share your PIN with anyone”, she cautioned and encouraged customers to take pains to learn how to do Mobile Money transactions on their own in other to reduce their risk of falling into the trap of fraudsters.
Other Executives of MTN also took turns to make presentations on various issues regarding the largest telephony company in Ghana.
