Dr. Richard Amoako Baah has called for changes in the NPP’s constitution.
The Political Science lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology was speaking on Fox FM about developments within Ghana’s largest opposition.
The General Secretary of the party, Kwabena Agyapong was the subject of discussion after he ignored votes of no confidence passed on him by several regional officers of the NPP as well as calls for him to resign his position.
Dr. Amoako Baah says by discarding those calls, Kwabena Agyapong “is fighting his entire party. What he is doing is senseless.”
The outspoken lecturer believes Kwabena Agyapong lacks what it takes to lead and adds that ” he will be removed. It would have been better for him to resign for the sake of the party. I would have even written his speech for him”.
Dr. Baah says calls for the NPP’s flag bearer; Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo to “plant his feet on the ground” is beside the point as the NPP’s constitution does not mention the flagbearer at all. “It does not give the flagbearer any powers” adding that there are many flaws within the NPP’s constitution which should be carefully considered. “The NDC’s constitution mentions that the flag bearer shall become the leader of the party but it is not the same with the NPP’s constitution”.
Dr. Amoako-Baah can’t be serious with his comments abt Kwabena Agyepong. He has shown that he is dry ignorant abt the NPP constitution and must keep his uninformed comments to himself. What is Amoako-Baah saying? That some misguided NPP guys have ganged up against Kwabena Agyepong and that’s enough reason for him to quit? Aba! Mr. Lecturer this one de3 u are wrong. Let those who want to get Kwabena Agyepong out follow the party Constitution. I thought u would have apprised yourself with the provisions of the NPP constitution before u comment. Academics don’t talk the way u have been doing about a Kwabena Agyepong.
