ECG to disconnect unauthorised services, remove fake metres

The Electricity Company of Ghana Limited (ECG) has announced a major initiative aimed at reducing commercial losses through a comprehensive system audit.

As part of this effort, ECG will disconnect all unauthorised services and remove fake meters starting Friday, October 18, 2024.

In a statement, ECG emphasised the importance of this action in ensuring the integrity and reliability of the power supply system.

Affected customers will have their supply regularised once they apply for new service at ECG district offices.

The company urged customers to avoid using middlemen, commonly known as “goro boys,” and to apply for services directly at the district offices.
