Farmer lashes media for shunning agriculture

IMG-20150109-WA0004The 2014 Best Farmer for Techiman South District, Mr. Abanaaba Abori has criticised media organisations for not alloting enough time and attention to agriculture-related issues.

He laments the media is interested in other happenings beside agriculture and explains that agriculture holds an important place in the nation’s economic development.

The 89-year old farmer with one wife and twenty nine children has been farming for 50 years and resides in Abanaaba village, a surburb of Techiman in the Brong Ahafo Region.

He cultivates all kinds of crops and rears all kinds of animals.

Mr. Abanaaba who spoke to rawgist.com appealed to government to make credit facilities readily available to farmers and also make them affordable.He beleives it will empower Ghanaian farmers to better feed the nation.

Mr. Abori Abanaaba is very optimistic he will become Best farmer in the region within a few years.
