Nana Agyei Domfeh, Regent of Apraman, a community within the Nhyiaeso constituency has stated that the former Metropolitan Chief Executive(MCE) of Kumasi, Dr Samuel Sarpong was a father to all in the metropolis during his tenure as Mayor.
According to him, on no occasion did the former Mayor discriminate between a party member and a non-party man in the discharge of his duties.
Many residents, he noted, from his area including assembly men who worked with Dr Sarpong could accuse him of any strained relationship or discrimination.
Speaking to news men during a visit by Dr Sarpong to his palace in a move to officially introduce himself as the aspiring Member of Parliament for the National Democratic Congress(NDC) in Nhyiaeso, the Chief asked that the former Mayor attends to his campaign with same selfless and respectful attitude 
he is known for.
PETIDA CHIEF:
At the Palace of Petida, another town within the Nhyiaeso constituency, Nana Kusi Obuadu, Chief of the area narrated how Dr Sarpong who is currently the State Housing Manager had in earlier times helped in the laying out of the Petida township.
He recalled how the former Mayor with selfless attitude and dedication carried out the exercise with others while refusing to collect any thing as inducement or payment for his services.
Nana stressed the confidence the chiefs and elders have in the NDC aspirant but tasked that he explained his plans to residents when the time comes for public campaign.
He urged the aspirant to caution his followers against the use of bad language or hate speech, noting aspirants should let their conduct reflect on their supporters.
OTHER CHIEFS:
There were visits to the Chiefs and Elders of Santasi, Anyinam, Adiebeba, Kromoase, Dakodwom, Daban and others in the constituency.
While welcoming Dr Sarpong to their palaces they asked for a decent campaign ahead of the upcoming polls.
They called for tolerance for opposing views and urged party supporters to conduct themselves very well even as they openly support either candidate of their choice.
They pledged their commitment to partnering with all aspirants to ensure the campaign in the lead up to the polls are incident free.
ASPIRANT:
Addressing the media after visiting about 20 chiefs, regents and elders in the constituency, Dr Sarpong noted the important role chiefs play in the socio-political life of the people.
According to him, since colonial days chiefs had played major roles in governance, adding they had been proper custodians of law and order.
Even with the advent of the Local Government system which was introduced post-colonial days, Dr Sarpong mentioned chiefs cannot be side-stepped in anything.
”The very land and towns government intend to develop belong to the chiefs so how can one seek to become city head or MP without showing respect to chiefs”, Dr Sarpong noted in response to a question.
He stressed his willingness to partner chiefs to develop the Nhyiaeso community when he is elected as Member of Parliament in the December 7th polls.
