All eyes will be on a small town in the central Region of Ghana barely a month from now.
Fawomanyo (also called Fawomanye or the river Island Village) will be celebrating her maiden homecoming festival.
The programme, which is expected to be very colorful will see people from all over the world both Ghanaians and tourists trooping to the small town to experience a culture that is quite unusual to the rest of the world.
The festival is scheduled to take off on August 17th 2017 and continue for four days.
As part of the programme, there will be various health screening events such as Eye Screening, Mammography, Optical Screening as well as Dental Screening.
There will also be durbars, exhibitions, fora on investment opportunities available as well as Christian religious events.
Chief of Fawomanyo, Nana Kwadwo Tano I, in an interaction with rawgist.com’s Bernard Buachi explained that Fawomanyo is a town deeply rooted in Christ and christian principles.
“My coronation was for instance a rare situation because it was done in a Christian way, in a manner that differs 
greatly from the usual chieftaincy enstoolment ceremonies and practices”, he explained.
He tells rawgist.com there is a lot to learn about Fawomanyo and there are several opportunities for business people there. He wants every citizen of the world to make it a point to visit the town and experience its richness and diversity.
Nana Kwadwo Tano I, also known as Rev. Kwasi Ansah Jr. explains that the festival is a period of reunion to chart a common course and draw resources for the development of the town.
About Fawomanyo
Fawomanye is situated in the Breman Ejukomah District and within the Central Region of Ghana. It lies along the Accra-Foso road which passes through Essiam. It has a population of about 600 people and is mainly a farming community. There is a lower primary school in the settlement but no health facility as well as any significant service and commercial activity. Most of the inhabitants are farmers and are likely to be Fanti-speaking, Akims who might have a background from Akim Swedru.
