Occupants of a nine-bedroom self-contained house at Kwamo, near Ejisu in the Ashanti Region were helpless when fire swept through their building and destroyed almost everything in the process, Tuesday dawn.
Witnesses say firemen from the Ejisu Municipal Fire Service managed to stop the fire from spreading to other adjoining buildings.
It is not immediately known what started the fire. Some victims who spoke to www.ghanagong.com say the fire could have started immediately power was restored after a blackout.
Several properties running into thousands of Ghana Cedis have been destroyed.
Victims were counting their losses at the time of filing this report.
There were no casualties.
