District Fire Officer for the Amenfi West, East and Central districts in the western region; Divisional Officer Grade 3,Justice Aryee, says his outfit has achieved 80% of its target to control fire outbreaks in the three districts.
He attributes the feat to the service’s engagements with the public on ways to prevent fire outbreak.
He tells Sir Richmond Antwi Boasiako of Royal FM though fire personnel didn’t receive the best treatment from some institutions they visited, their effort has paid off.
He appealed to philantropics to come to their aid with vehicles to help them reach out to remote villages to educate them as part of the “anti-fire outbreak campaign”.
Mr. Justice Aryee emphasized the commission’s desire for all institutions and households to purchase fire extinguishers at their various places of operation as a first aid to fire prevention before the intervention of the fire service commission during fire outbreaks.
