The Ashanti Regional Organiser for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Francis Adomako on Monday afternoon visited kids at the Pediatric Unit of the Kumasi South Hospital to show them kindness.
The gesture formed part of activities marking his birthday which fell on Sunday, the 8th of December, 2019.
Going from ward to ward, Mr Adomako presented food items as well as drinks and toiletries to parents who lied beside their kids at the wards.
Later in the day, Mr Adomako donated some of the items including plastic chairs and bottles of mineral water to the hospital management and promised to visit the ward as when he gets the opportunity.
He also presented a nebulizer and glucometer to the facility.
Speaking to the Ghanaian Observer Newspaper later, Mr Adomako said it was important that as he celebrated his birthday he showed kindness to persons who may be distressed.
‘’I am happy that I was able to do this for the kids in this hospital because that’s where my passion lies as a teacher and lecturer’’, Mr Adomako passionately noted.
DESIRE:
Mr Adomako noted that his desire was to see all kids given good care anytime they visited the hospital.
This, he stressed is because children are the future of the country and therefore deserved all the care that could be given when they are ill.
He challenged doctors as well as nurses at the Pediatric Unit to give off their best in caring for kids that are brought to the wards.
According to Mr Adomako, research shows wounds and sicknesses heal quickly when people feel loved when they are unwell and therefore asked that parents and hospital authorities treat patients especially children with utmost care and love to hasten their recovery.
He also asked that the unit brings to his attention any challenge they may be facing so that he could use his good offices to lobby for support from government.
‘’Treat these kids at the hospitals with care and love so that they can recuperate hastily and speedily’’, the regional organizer posited.
HEAD OF UNIT:
Receiving the items on behalf of the Hospital, Dr Angela Frimpong as well as Dr Brigetta, Clinical coordinator and Doctor in charge respectively thanked the NPP man for the gesture.
The ward, they noted cherished such benevolent acts since the management alone cannot deal with all the challenges they face at the unit.
They promised to use the items presented for its intended purpose.
Present at the brief ceremony were Madam Akosua Nyarko, nurse in charge of pediatric ward, Samuel Oduro Frimpong, Head of Finance, as well as Madam Victoria Opoku, deputy director of nursing at Kumasi South Hospital.
