FWSC to meet CETAG on August 19

The Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC) has invited the leadership of the Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) to a meeting scheduled for Monday, August 19, 2024.

This meeting, according to a statement issued by the FWSC, was requested by the Minister for Employment and Labour Relations to address the ongoing concerns raised by CETAG members.

CETAG initiated a nationwide strike on June 14, citing the government’s failure to implement agreed-upon arbitral awards and other conditions of service for its members.

As the strike enters its third month, there have been calls for the closure of colleges. However, the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) has clarified that no such decision has been made yet.
