General Secretary of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, says calls for a new voters’ register are baseless.
The NDC Secretary was making a submission to during a two-day forum held by the Electoral Commission soliciting views on the need for a new voters’ register for the 2016 elections.
He suggests that whatever anomalies that the NPP believes compromises the register can be corrected employing existing self-cleansing mechanisms already provided for.
He says it does not take the compilation of a new register to delete the names of dead persons or unqualified persons.
Several think tanks, political parties, civil society groups among several stakeholders have been making submissions which they believe will put the issue of a credible voters’ register for Ghana to sleep.
