Ghana AIDS Commission in need of $2million to avert imminent crisis

The AIDS Commission says it needs this money to purchase 1 million HIV/AIDS testing kits and more than 5,000 anti-retroviral drugs. The Acting Director General of the Commission, Jacob Sackie made this known when the steering committee of the commission paid a call on the Vice President Paa Kwesi Amisah Arthur.

He noted with worry that foreign support for activities of the AIDS Commission was fast dwindling. He was emphatic, the GAC will be in a dire situation should help not come soon enough.

The vice president, Paa Kwesi Amisah Arthur on his part, appealed to the public and corporate Ghana to rise to the call. He noted it was about time Ghanaians begun supporting local advocacy institutions like the AIDS commission.
