The incumbent Member of Parliament for the Manhyia-North constituency, Hon Collins Owusu Amankwah has urged residents of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) stronghold to work with him as they strive to give Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo-Addo ninety percent (90%) of the popular votes in the upcoming elections.
According to him, the only way of helping to reduce the rot in government, poverty in the country and the rising unemployment rate amongst the youth was to ensure the NPP flag-bearer becomes president.
Speaking to an enthusiastic crowd moments after filing his nomination forms as the aspiring NPP parliamentary candidate at the Yennyawoso Electoral Center, Hon Amankwah said his motivation in the upcoming elections is to ensure Nana wins the presidency.
He also promised to retain the parliamentary seat for the NPP, adding nothing is being left undone to ensure the realization of this target.
UNITY:
The MP, assuring the people noted party executives are bent on realizing its target and were relying on the unity of purpose to achieving it.
‘’Nobody can stop us from hitting our target if we continue in the unity we are showing today as a group with a common destiny’’, Hon Amankwah posited.
He added, ‘as we reach out to those who are not on board the party bandwagon we should ensure we use our conduct to draw them to our fold’.
Hon Amankwah stressed that as a democratic party, the NPP believes after elections nobody stays back but rallies behind the candidate the majority of the people had chosen so as to enable it forge ahead as a united front.
CHAIRMAN:
Mr Kwaku Poku, the Manhyia North constituency chairman speaking to the Ghanaian Observer Newspaper stressed the NPP was poised for power and was doing everything possible to win the upcoming elections.
According to him, the Manhyia-North constituency was determined to play its part in realizing the general target of the party.
He disclosed the strategy by the constituency to engage in a door to door outreach was yielding results and maintained it would continue with that until December 7th.
Beaming with confidence, Mr Poku said ‘with the enthusiasm shown by our supporters and the vibrancy of our parliamentary candidate we are sure to secure the MP seat and give Nana Addo a 90% of the popular votes’.
