The Member of Parliament for Manhyia-North, Hon Collins Owusu Amnakwah has urged the citizenry to offer support to the Ghana Police Service to enable them provide effective protection of lives and property.
According to him, the police required every resource to ensure they are adequately prepared to carry out their constitutional mandate.
Effective policing, the Youthful legislator noted is a shared responsibility between the citizenry and the men and women of the Police Force.
Addressing residents as well as officials of the Ghana Police Service during the commissioning of a Police Station at Buokrom, a community within the Manhyia- North Constituency, Hon Amankwah noted the importance of extending support to the Police since they required information and other logistical support to carry out their functions.
‘’We the citizenry are at all times required to give support to the police including the giving of information and leads to crime and robbery in our localities so as to enable them deal with such issues’’, Hon Amankwah posited.

Recounting the hustle in securing funds for the construction of the Police Station to Ghanaian Observer Newspaper later, Hon Amankwah said the venture was a good one that required he gave his all in securing funds for the project.
The Buokrom community, the MP noted deserved such facility to reduce the incidence of crime and robbery.
Hon Amankwah stressed the need for the tightening of security at all human habitations across the constituencies in the country.
According to him, crime has now become very sophisticated and therefore the need to partner with security agencies as well as community watch dog committees to provide effective policing of lives and properties.
POLICE COMMANDER:
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the Ashanti Regional Police Commander, COP Ken Yeboah lauded the efforts of the MP for Manhyia-North.
The MP, the Commander noted has shown commitment to securing a well protected environment for his constituents.
This, he noted is evident in the kind of interventions he has so far carried out including the construction of an ultra-modern Police Station for the residents of Buokrom.
However, the Regional Commander called for increased assistance to the Police so as to ensure they are adequately and appropriately resourced to deal with crime at all times.
He, therefore, urged the citizenry especially those who had resources to emulate the gesture by the Manhyia-North Mp by providing support to the Police to enable them undertake the difficult task of providing a 24hour effective policing service .
