The Kumasi Polytechnic Chapter of the Tertiary Education Institutions Network of the NDC is calling for a “Yammin-like Deputy Ashanti regional minister” immediately.
In a statement issued by the group, they explain that the removal of the former Deputy Ashanti regional Minister; Joseph Yammin has affected the Operations of TEIN across the region.
“By relinquishing Hon. Joseph Yammin from his position as the deputy regional minister on the 4th of March 2015, the leadership vacuum that was created has had a very great negative impact on the activities of TEIN NDC Kumasi Polytechnic, our sister TEIN institutions and Ashanti Region as a whole for the past nine months hence our call for a deputy minister as we gear towards elections 2016.”
They ask for a Deputy minister who can help in the execution of the party’s “1 million votes agenda” and also rally and re-energize the grassroots of the party towards the upcoming general elections.
Please read the full statement below:
a) Deputy Minister who can complement efforts of the regional minister in coordinating and directing the administrative machinery in the region.
b) Deputy Minister who can help the party hierarchy in the region by the formulation and execution of plans and programmes in the bid to make the agenda 1million votes a reality.
c) Deputy Minister who is ever ready to keep touch with the grassroots and can re- energize their hopes in the president and the NDC government relatively.
d) Deputy Minister who is always ready to resource and support TEIN programmes and activities in the region.
e) Deputy Minister who can strategize for the effective mobilization of resources necessary for the overall aim of retaining President John Dramani Mahama as the president of the republic of Ghana.
