The Chief Executive Officer for the Unity Group of Companies, Dr Kwame Kyei says the art of voluntary giving makes us to look good in the sight of God and the society.
According to him, those who give to the needy and the destitute exemplified the character traits of God who he said has from creation given to mankind freely.
Speaking at his annual widows’ party at the Unity Group’s Stadium branch where about 800 widows who were drawn from various places in the region were given pieces of wax prints and fruit drinks, Dr Kyei reminded the public that they were duty bound to help the needy in society.
‘’If we believe all of us were created in the image of God then let us do what we could to help others who may be in need so as to mirror to the society true godliness’’, Dr Kyei stressed.
WORTHY GIVERS:
Dr Kyei indicated all in the society were capable of giving no matter how little they could give out to the needy.
According to him, ‘it is not the amount one gives that was important but the heart with which one gives out’.
‘’No one was specially created to give to the needy but we give because we are commanded by God to do so ’’, the Unity Oil Boss affirmed.
He stressed his years of giving spans from early 90’s, indicating he also received same support from various benefactors when he was starting life and business.
MEDIA:
Admonishing the media, Dr Kyei reminded them of the crucial role they played in helping build a better society.
According to him, the country’s peace depended on them and urged practitioners to eschew malice in the line of duty since they would account for their actions and inactions one day.
He said media work thrived in truth, adding that the society would become better if journalists applied themselves to the ethics guiding the profession.
‘’You may not know the power you wield in society but our Nation can become a better by the roles you play in ensuring that ills were curtailed and truth uplifted’’, the famous philanthropist noted.
