Information reaching rawgist.com is that the President of the Ghana Medical Association; Dr. Kwabena Opoku-Adusei is illegally occupying his former bungalow in Kumasi several months after being transferred to head the Tema regional Hospital.
Though the vocal medical doctor has been allocated a new bungalow with his new office, he continues to occupy his former bungalow in Kumasi after his allowed period of three months has long expired.
The Estate Officer of the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council, Issah Ansah confirmed the situation to rawgist.com saying that “though he has been transferred, he had 3 months to vacate. He came to my office and I asked
him were you having allocation letter. He said no. I pointed out to him that he was illegally staying in the bungalow.”
The estate Officer says though Dr. Opoku-Adusei promised to vacate the premises several months after his stay expired, he is still occupying it, “even after my Chief Director asked him to leave”.
The Estate Officer however hinted to rawgist.com that there is an exercise underway with officials of National Security to fish out all who are illegally occupying state property, adding that the exercise will end by the middle of July, 2015. Issah Ansah tells rawgist.com those found culpable will not be given time to pack out but will be forcefully evicted.
Meanwhile attempts by rawgist.com to reach Dr. Opoku Adusei for his side of the story was unsuccessful as several phone calls yielded no response.
