Techiman Area Head of the Christ Apostolic Church(CAC) has cautioned strongly against the maltreatment of orphans, widows and other less privileged persons in society.
He says the “wrath of God awaits anyone who maltreats an orphan, widow or underprivileged”.
His caution follows an expose by ace investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas of Tiger Eye P.I. in which a man of God by name Rev. Lawrence Lamina who is the general manager of Echoing Hill Orphanage is captured in a secret camera attempting to stab one of the children.
Rev. Andrews Azorti said the act by the Manager, (if confirmed to be true) is very unfortunate, stressing that it is very sad how some people have established “Orphanage Homes” under the pretense of helping the poor children but end up maltreating them and making wealth from donations meant for the upkeep of the Orphans. He advised such people to repent immediately for their own sake and that of their descendants.
He spoke when he led the Techiman Central Assembly of the C.A.C to make a donation of assorted items and cash to the Frank May New Life Children’s Home at Techiman to climax the Church’s annual 1-month fasting & prayer programme, applauding Mr. & Mrs. Apus; operators of the Frank May Orphanage for the good job they are doing in creating a better life for the “hopeless” children.
Receiving the donation, Miss Alice an 18 year old Orphan who was brought to the Frank May New Life Children’s Home at age 6 expressed gratitude for the gesture. She has been able to complete Senior High School with the help of Mr. & Mrs. Apus and wishes to further her education.
