Contrary to information making the rounds in media circles, the John Mahama led government has categorically denied the construction of a $1.2 million zoo at the seat of government.
The President, as well as the flagstaff house communications bureau are struggling to understand why anyone would want to attribute such a falsehood to government.
A release attributed to the flagstaff house said “Government has secured a $1.2million loan to build a first class zoo at the flagstaff house as part of efforts to beautify the seat of government and make it an attraction”.
The statement went on to say that the zoo is to be constructed by Madrinha Holba construction of Brazil.
It is believed that some elements of the opposition New Patriotic Party with assistance from some media personnel in respected media houses in the country planted the false information in their quest to make the government unpopular.
A statement from the Flagstaff House Communications Bureau signed by Stanislav Xoese Dogbe accuses Kaba of Asempa FM and Komla Klutse of TV3 of helping in the circulation of the false information. ” I cannot explain the rationale for the decision to write and circulate this false release and how the two persons above got them”.
Government believes the release is part of NPP’s vile propaganda towards 2016 and should not be taken seriously by well meaning Ghanaians.
rawgist.com has so far been unable to trace the release to any mails from the flagstaff house communications Bureau.
