“Ghana as a country needs environmental peace to make sure water bodies in the country are well protected”. That’s according to the leader of the Ghana Youth Environmental Movement, Mr. Jonas Nyavor.
Mr. Jonas Nyavor who was speaking on Techiman based Classic fm accused successive governments of failing to protect the water bodies in the country and admonishes all to join the drive towards making our water bodies safe and sustainable.
He says the activities of some fishermen, Galamsay operators, and farmers are really causing the nation therefore the hour has come for all to do something about the situation.
Mr. Nyavor encouraged Ghanaians to demand more from authorities mandated to manage water bodies in the country since most water bodies are now very poisonous and endangered.
He also urges Ghanaians to start thinking about how to harvest and treat water before using.
A medical practitioner; Dr. Rockson Adjei, also advised residents against drinking contaminated water that can lead to cholera, Guinea worm, Hepatitis A and other kidney problems. He advised Ghanaians to start practicing the habit of managing their own water domestically.
