The Ghana Premier League entered its week four with a lot of drama and wonderful displays across the various league centers in the country over the weekend.
Glorious Accra Hearts of Oak continued their fine form walloping Bechem United by 3-1 at the Accra Sports Stadium to go top of the Ghana Premier League with three points clear above debutants, Dreams FC and Wa all Stars. Three goals from Samuel Yeboah, Mustapha Essuman and Isaac Mensah were enough to see off Bechem United. Hearts now top the premier league log with 10 points.
According to head coach: Kenichi Yashuhashi, the Phobians are yet to get to their peak and he is expecting more from his team in the rest of the games.
On the other hand, Kumasi Asante Kotoko continued their poor account in the Premier League away at the Golden City Park against Berekum Chelsea. Two quick first half goals from Captain Saddick Adams were enough to see the Porcupine Warriors go four consecutive matches without a win in this campaign. After drawing goalless at home with Obuase Ashanti Gold in their mid-week outstanding week two fixture, the fabulous fraternity had a lot of confidence going into this encounter.
Things are now gloomy as they are languishing at the bottom part of the table on the 14th position with only two points.
Fast forward, at the OsagyefoƆ Agyemang Badu Park; Dormaa Aduana Stars recorded their first ever victory in the ongoing Premier League over West African Football Academy by a lone goal to nil. Godfred Saka converted from the penalty sport in the first half to put a stop to this poor showing in this season’s campaign.
Apart from the match between New Edubiase and Inter Allies which produced no goal and Medeama versus Dwarfs which is yet to be played, there was at least a goal scored from the remaining centers.
In all, week four recorded 12 goals barring the outstanding fixture between Medeama and Dwarfs.
