GPL Week Three Preview: Ash Gold host Chelsea, Hearts at Cape Coast against Dwarfs, Kotoko and Medeama

Premier-leagueThe 2015/2016 Ghana Premier League enters it’s week three this weekend with a lot of scintillating and captivating clashes between clubs across the various league centers within the country.

Obuase-based club; Ashanti Gold will set the trail blazing on Saturday against 2010/2011 league champions; Berekum Chelsea in an early tussle at the Len Clay Sports Stadium at exactly 4:30pm. The latter won their opening game against Medeama SC by two-goals-to-one before, travelling to play MO Bejaia of Algeria in the CAF Champions League.

Berekum Chelsea on the other hand, lost their first match to newly promoted side Techiman City but bounced back strongly to defeat WAFA at the Golden City Park by one goal to nil.

With key players such as; the Nuhu brothers, Emmanuel Osei Bafour, Kadri Mohammed and fantastic captain, Eric Opoku for the miners against the likes of, potent goal poacher; Saddick Adams who returned from Europe with enormous maturity being ably supported by the rest. There is no doubt that this game will be a mouth-watering one and as such supporters and football enthusiasts cannot afford to miss this tantalizing duel.

With the touch line brawl, two tactical super powers; Coach Bashiru Hayford and Coach Solomon Odwo will orchestrate to ensure victory and superiority.

More action continue on Sunday where, debutants; Dreams FC will seek to maintain their impeccable record away at the Tema Stadium against Inter Allies after showing off Dwarfs and Bechem United in their first two games.

Wa All Stars have demonstrated impressive performance in their last two matches attaining maximum points. Playing at the Wa Park against Dansoman-based, Liberty Professionals will be a very difficult encounter. They lost to this same side last season at the same venue but with insurgence in form this season, beating Hassacas and Dormaa Aduana Stars make them the favorite in this battle.

Hearts of Oak after their unprecedented feet at the T&A Park beating Medeama for the first time, will still play away to struggling side, Cape Coast Mysterious Dwarfs at the Cape Coast Stadium. Looking at the problems of Dwarfs analytically, it may not look good for them because, Coach J.E Sarpong’s men will have to displeasingly impress after statements of players sabotage by their gafa.

The Phobians will be without their young and enterprising chap; Samudeen Ibrahim through injury and will also miss the services of energetic and talismanic; Eric Kumi via suspension. Kenichi and his entourage will make it three out of three if Dwarfs are gunned down after Edubiase and Medeama.

On the other side, Kumasi Asante Kotoko will play their second game in the league at the Baba Yara Stadium against Medeama after losing to WAFA at the Sogakope Park in their opening fixture.

The Porcupine Warriors had their week two fixture postponed because their opponents; Ashanti Gold, travelled for an African competition.
However, tensions are already high in the Garden City with huge expectations from supporters of the fabulous family who are mobilizing themselves numerously geared towards massive representation at the stadium on Sunday.

According to the club’s supporters chair; K5, “We (supporters) will have to troop into the stadium in our numbers for the players are ready to deliver results” he said.

On the part of management, the managing Director; Mr. Samuel Opoku Nti, “Everything is in place for the players to give out their maximum performance that will ensure victory, supporters are encouraged to come massively for this is a match to set Kotoko’s season in perspective” he confidently stated.
