The Ministry of Health has denied presenting GHC 50,000 compensation to Suweiba Mumin, the woman whose baby went missing at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi.
Brother of Suweiba, Rahman told Citi News, the family suspects the Ministry was behind attempts to get the family to receive the money through the community leaders who presented it.
Before the incident, the Minister had hinted to Citi News the Hospital may have to compensate Suweiba if it failed to produce the body of her baby.
But in a latest reaction, the Public Relations Officer at the Health Ministry, Tony Goodman says the Ministry has made no such offer.
He said his outfit is currently studying the final report of the Nursing and Midwifery Council and will take a definite stance on the issue soon.
