Mr. Douglas Adom Kwakye, the outgoing District National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) at Ahafo Ano South District of the Ashanti Region says enhancing quality healthcare delivery takes collective effort of all the stakeholders.
He therefore appealed to Ghanaians to partner government in delivering quality healthcare to every citizen irrespective of one’s economic status in the society.
Mr. Kwakye made the observation during his send-off ceremony.
He has been transferred from the Ahafo Ano South District to the central regional office as the Senior Manager in charge of regional monitoring and evaluation.
According to him, the healthcare of citizen is the priority of the government of the day, and since the government cannot do it alone, there is the need for all hands to be on deck to ensure that the healthcare of every Ghanaian is well attended to.
He commended all stakeholders in the district including Nananom, Assembly members ,Service providers and his staff for their support during the past seven years.
He revealed that his seven years in office has seen membership of the scheme shoot from 31% in 2011 to 43% in 2018, through the implementation of new programmes such as Mobile Renewal of expired cards, digital authentication system, electronic issuance of receipt for payment and claims from NHIS credential healthcare providers.
