Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party in the Ashanti Region has cautioned those propagating a wicked hoax on the aged to desist from it.
He explains that some people are going around telling people aged 60 years old and above that the NPP government is set to dish out cash to them. This has caused a lot of old men and women to go to various banks with the aim of registering for e-zwich.
He says many of the banks also register them and then direct them to go for some kind of endorsement from the NPP office.
Mr. Kwasi Kyei who was speaking on Kessben fm however explained that there is no such programme going on or about to go on. He wants those propagating the hoax to stop.
He says the LEAP programme is the only thing close to that and it is already going on. “In fact, it has been going on since the NDC regime”, he explained.
