The Member of Parliament (MP) for Effiduase Asokore, Dr Nana Ayew Afriyie has rubbished claims that he slapped the District Chief Executive (DCE) of his area, Mary Boatemaa Marfo.
This is despite attempts by persons close to Madam Mary Boatemaa to insist same on the MP.
News became rife hours before the President toured Asokore that the MP had given the DCE a hefty slap on the cheeks.
However, the MP when reached on phone calmly intimated that nothing of the sort had happened.
”My brother, I am surprised that this falsehood has been peddled on my person seeing that I was nowhere near the area the misunderstanding had happened prior to the arrival of the President in my constituency”, Dr Ayew stressed to this reporter.
REACTION:
Commenting further, Dr Ayew wondered why assigns of the DCE would seek to taint his character with such a lie.
He noted that as a person the least he would do is to think ill about his fellow human being.
According to the calm toned MP, there have been a lot of orchestrations against his person just to paint him black in the constituency as the internal party primaries draw close.
This latest attempt, Dr Ayew described was to make him lose the favour he has with the Presidency and the people in government.
DCE:
Meanwhile, in a telephone conversation with this reporter, Madam Mary Boatemaa could not be emphatic on the issue.
When asked if reports of a slap on her person was true she muffled some words and said would get back to this reporter.
Before she hanged up, Madam Boatemaa said she would give a proper responses to the issue later in the day.
She claimed the tour of the President in her locality was important than the issue that has been reported.
However, reports available at the stables of the Ghanaian Observer newspaper indicates that there is bad blood between the DCE and the MP with the former insisting that the latter is orchestrating her dismissal.
Madam Boatemaa accuses the MP for leaking information to EOCO about her dealings in the school feeding program in the District.
The DCE is alleged to have padded some figures as persons enrolled on the scheme of which an amount of GHC 141, 000 was reported to have gone into her personal account.
