Ghana Politics News-The former Deputy Youth and Sports Minister under the Mahama administration, Joseph Yammin has rebuffed claims that he is against the return of John Mahama as a possible flag-bearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Reacting to allegations made against his person by a fellow party man and former Deputy Minister for Works and Housing, Samuel Yaw Adusei, Mr Yammin rubbished the claims of being an anti-Mahama campaigner.
Recently, the two had been engaged in a media war with each accusing the other of being corrupt and working to bring the NDC down in the Ashanti Region.
But speaking to the Ghanaian Observer Newspaper, Mr Yammin expressed surprise at how he could be accused of working against his former boss, John Mahama.
‘’My brother if Samuel Yaw Adusei wants to accuse anybody for working against John Mahama he should look beyond me because I will never entertain such thoughts’’, the flamboyant former Deputy Sports Minister posited.
BACKGROUND:
The Ashanti Regional NDC had its elections last Saturday at Kumawu where it elected one Augustus Andrews Nana Akwasi as its new chairman.
The victory of Nana Akwasi meant Joseph Yammin lost his bid to lead the NDC as its regional Chairman despite mounting a fierce challenge for the position.
Mr Yammin, a day after the polls mentioned schemes by some people that led to his defeat and wondered why people like Betty Mould Iddrisu who he had previously campaigned for to become National Vice-Chairperson of NDC will stab him at the back.
But in a fierce reaction, Samuel Yaw Adusei, campaign coordinator for Betty Mould for NDC Chairmanship challenged Yammin to provide the basis of his allegation.
‘’I dare Yammin to prove where he campaigned for Madam Betty Mould to now turn to accuse her of stabbing him at the back. If Yammin has lost his chairmanship bid he should keep quiet and support the winner’’, Samuel Yaw Adusei bared his teeth.
ACCUSATIONS:
Meanwhile, Mr Yammin had accused Samuel Yaw Adusei, a protégé of Madam Betty Mould of stealing about three excavators and selling them to enrich himself.
Yammin further warned in a text message copied to a news portal that he still has some evidence of that thievery act in his possession.
But in a sharp rebuttal, Mr Adusei has strongly denied stealing or taking away any excavators when he was Deputy Minister for Ashanti.
Mr Adusei has therefore threatened Yamin with a famous river god; antoa or the law courts to substantiate the scurrilous allegations against his person.
