One of Ghana’s musicians who has over the years waxed blasphemous and culturally incorrigible, Wanlov da Kubolor of the FOKN duo, has said that he is a man of God.
“I am already a man of God. Those people who claim to be men of God; when I look at them, some are lying, stealing, taking peoples wives and many unscrupulous things which I don’t think men of God should do,” he told Flex newspaper when he was asked if he would one day do the work of God.
Adding, “for me I don’t do a quarter of those things, so I believe I am more of a man of God than those people who call themselves men of God.”
Wanlov also noted that he does a lot of the things that the Bible says. An instance he sited was about being kind, taking care of your neighbor and loving your neighbor.
He indicated, “I don’t need to practice doing good because I am afraid of Hell or dying but because I believe it’s a good thing. I think God will be happier with that than doing it because you are afraid of Hell. Some people do good things because they are afraid of a punishment, and that is not right.”
Talking about repentance, he said there were a lot of people who had repented but their lives did not speak well of them and he feel he is alright without repentance. “I have studied both the new and the old testament so I know a lot of things about the Bible.”
After going through the Bible, I found out that there are a lot of sex stories in the Bible, that I call ‘gospel-porn’. I just realized that the things in the Bible are even worse than real lives, people killing their children and other wicked acts,” he said.
Wanlov and his partner M3nsa who together form the group FOKN BOYZ, have overly been mauled by the public for consistently acting alien to the Ghanaian culture by going nude and spewing naked words, and have also on numerous occasions ridiculed Christianity.
