Ghana News-The Ashanti Regional Organizer, Francis Adomako has urged the independent committee to be inaugurated by government to commence investigations into the death of some seven men who were killed at Manso Nkwanta by the Police recently.
This, the organizer noted will help to ease up tensions building up in the Asawase community where the seven hailed from.
Speaking to the Ghanaian Observer Newspaper this Saturday, Mr Adomako expressed worry at the way things were getting out of hand in the Kumasi metropolis due to the infamous incident.
The Police account so far, Mr Adomako intimated seems to exonerate them from any blame but said every word from them has been contradicted by the families of the deceased.
‘’I urge government to hurriedly inaugurate the independent committee of inquiry to the death of the seven men and the happenings at Asawase so that we as a people can know the real cause of both incidents’’, Mr Adomako posited.
ADMONITION:
Mr Adomako rallied members of the deceased seven to be calm as they wait for the outcome of the work of the yet to be inaugurated independent committee of inquiry.
He mentioned the worrying nature the seven youthful men were murdered but asked that the families allow for due process to prevail.
The Organizer said it was baffling listening to the Police claim the dead were armed robbers knowing very well three of the seven were workers of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He, however, asked for calm as the issues are unraveled by the independent group whose work may commence soon.
‘’When you listen to the Police it is direct opposite what the families of the deceased are also saying but I urge all of us to exercise restraint as we wait for the independent committee to start work so we know the cause of this worrying situation’’, the NPP organizer noted.
COMMENDATION:
Meanwhile, Mr Adomako has commended the Asokwa Municipal Assembly Chief Executive nominee, Mr Akwanuassah Gyimah.
He also praised the President for choosing someone who knows the challenges of the Asokwa constituency.
He, however, urged the nominee to as a matter of urgency tackle the bad roads as well as the flood situations that rears its head anytime it rains in the community.
He also rallied the people of the community, especially assembly members and chiefs to offer support to the nominee so that his confirmation ceremony becomes a seamless one.
