A policy analyst has decried the lack of a functional property rights regime in Ghana.
He says a fully functional property rights regime in Ghana will promote wealth creation among the citizenry.
Kwadwo Afari who was speaking at a 2-day workshop on Communicating Economic Freedom held for selected journalists by the Africa Youth Peace Call at the Anita Hotel, Ejisu.
Kwadwo Afari who blamed government for making the people poor also described Ghana’s constitution as a negative document and described article 257 of the coConstitution as being “anti-people, anti-growth and anti-development”.
“Why should the government take the gold or diamond in my land whiles still acknowledging my ownership of the land?”, he queried.
Speaking on Global free trade, a Board member of AYPC; Dan Mclaughlin emphasized the need for integrity for
Ghanaians to compete favourably on the international business
stage. “Lack of integrity in Ghana is the cause of corruption”, he said and urged journalists to take a firm step in the fight against corruption through their reportage.
The selected journalists were also taken through practical social media techniques which will help extend their reach and make them more influential.
