John Kumah has left a huge void- Bawumia cries

Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia Saturday praised the character and dedication of the late Member of Parliament for Ejisu; Dr. John Ampontuah Kumah.

The Vice President who was speaking at the funeral ceremony of the late Deputy finance Minister and MP for Ejisu, stated that the late MP was a man blessed with a good heart and added that his departure had left a void and grief beyond consolation.

“Nature has dealt us a cruel blow, taking John away in his prime. Indeed, we have lost a dedicated public servant. I have lost a friend and a strong supporter. We appeal to the Good Lord to keep John in his bosom. While we are gathered here to mourn and are still in shock, we find solace in John’s remarkable legacy”, he said adding that so much was achieved in John Kumah’s lifetime.

Dr. Bawumia also praised John Kumah’s political and called him ‘an astute legislator and a principled politician whose dedication to advocacy and profound empathy for citizens, particularly his constituents, made him a beacon of hope and a man of the people. John exemplified compassion in all he did’.

The Vice President also made reference to the late Deputy Finance Minister’s role at the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP) and said he was diligent in the execution of his duties.

He also mentioned that the late politician made great impact in politics and youth development through the Young Patriots; a group he formed. “Additionally, John served the party with distinction as a communicator, effectively conveying the NPP’s message and fostering political engagement among the populace”.

The late Dr. John Kumah passed on 7th March, 2024 after battling an illness.
