“Knowledge gap in pharmaceutical dispensing must be filled” -Pharmacist reveals at graduation of Medicine dispensers
Pharmacist and Founder of Ideal Health Assistant Training Centre; Dr. Nicodemus Tsogbe says there is a great amount of knowledge gap in the dispensing of pharmaceutical products that needs to be filled as soon as possible.
Dr. Tsogbe was speaking in an interview with rawgist.com’s Bernard Buachi after the graduation ceremony of twenty students of the Ideal Health Assistant Training Centre at Atonsu in the Ashanti region on Saturday.
He recounted experiences where in his attempt to buy medicine, he found out that those selling the medicine were not well-versed in their job; a situation he said is a cause for concern.
He also explained that the establishment of the Ideal Health Assistant Training Centre will help reduce the unemployment gap in the country while at the same time fostering safe practice in the dispensing of pharmaceutical products.
He explained that the six month course is regulated by the pharmacy Council and is very affordable. He also said it afforded the youth the opportunity to further their education even to the doctorate level.
He advised the graduates to be truthful to their employers and contribute positively towards healthcare delivery in Ghana.
He said the future of the centre is bright as infrastructure and course options are being improved.
