KNUST TEIN NDC to head to court over bloated register if…

NDCSome members of TEIN- KNUST, a student chapter of the National Democratic congress (NDC) have expressed disappointment in the outgoing president of the association, Abdul Majid Abdul Halim popularly known as Sirr Halim for allegedly meddling with their election.

They believe the outgoing president interfered with process to favour some candidates he openly supported on various platforms such as Facebook.

According to them, the ballot papers were endorsed by the president and the general secretary but not the electoral commissioner. They believe this is part of the efforts by the president to manipulate the process. Again, they say the president compiled a list of voters from classes to be added to their database whereas they are not either card bearing members or those who have dully paid their dues to the association.
A presidential candidate in the election, David Darry says the database (voters register) which was supplied to them was different from the voters’ register used on the day of voting. He says the database used during the election was bloated.

Again, they are asking why the electoral commissioner left all NDC platforms after the declaration of the provisional results. They are also questioning why there were some duplicate sheets being used as ballot papers.

They have therefore threatened to take the matter to court if the whole process is not nullified.
