The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) is set to organised a Food Festival to sensitise both industry and consumers on food fraud and discuss among stakeholders the best and pragmatic steps to effectively eradicate food fraud in the country.
The first of its kind, the National Food Fraud Conference, happened in 2016 but was moved a step further to include Food Festival in 2018.
The 2019 edition will be held under the theme, “Promoting Our Culture, Our Food And Science”, aimed at celebrating Ghana’s diverse food heritage and culture, Africa, foreign and new food products developed.
Several food experts including the Food and Drugs Authorities are expected to educate students and the general public on the basic science behind food preparation.
The fourth edition which will be held on 14th February, 2019 will see the following activities;
- Presentations and Open Forums
- Food Fair and Cooking Competition
- Maggi Education/Activation
- Exhibition and Cultural Performances
