KNUST warns of fraudulent syndicate targeting university admissions

The management of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has warned about the criminal activities of a fraudulent syndicate attempting to interfere with the university’s admission processes.
According to KNUST, the syndicate operates by using fake email addresses, such as knust.inscript@gmail.com and knust.inscription@gmail.com, to deceive prospective students and their families.

These scammers, the statement added, falsely claim to facilitate the admission process and solicit payments and personal information from unsuspecting applicants.

KNUST has thus emphasised that it has not authorised any individuals, agents, or third parties to manage admissions on behalf of the university.

“KNUST wishes to state unequivocally that it has not authorised individuals, agents or third parties to handle admission on behalf of the university. All admissions processes are managed solely by the university’s official channels.

“We urge all prospective students and their parents to disregard any such fraudulent communications and report them immediately to the nearest police station,” the statement read.
