Fire Officers have successfully put out a fire that gutted the 6th Floor of Unity Hall, Block B at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in the Ashanti regional capital, Kumasi.
Though the cause of the fire is yet to be established, rawgist.com sources say the fire started around 3pm today.
An eyewitness who is also a student of the University, Charles Kumah Ntim tells rawgist.com “two rooms were burnt whiles two other rooms exuded thick smoke.”
He tells rawgist.com no casualties were recorded as a result of the fire adding that residents who had come for various conferences there are all safe.
He commended the fire officers on their swift response and ability to quickly put out the fire.
