After public reproach and resentment of nurses for their alleged role in the disappearance of stillborn babies, the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), under a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Mr. Isaac Offeh Gyimah has plans to expand the already strengthened security system by installing additional computers in all its offices to monitor staff activities as a way of fast-tracking healthcare delivery in the facility.
The installation is also expected to block financial loopholes as a result of improper record keeping over the past years. The hospital last year lost huge sums of money due to the numerous strike actions among health workers in the country.
KATH Pubic Relations Officer (PRO), Kwame Frimpong shared with rawgist.com the numerous challenges facing the hospital.
The “obsolete oxygen plant and manifold, water supply and power supply are among the challenges”.
The hospital is however doing a lot to get its infrastructure in top shape with the facility’s Internally Generated Funds (IGF).
Meanwhile, Management of the hospital has warned motorists using the hospital yard as a hawking venue to desist from the illegal act since they intend to prosecute offenders.
