The first floor theatres and recovery ward of the maternity department of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital have been closed down for renovation.
According to the management, the renovation works is part of the major retooling of the hospital by government under the national equipment replacement project.
The hospital, in a statement issued Thursday said two of the korle-bu maternity theatre wards are currently undergoing renovation and that the maternity block is managing with only a single theatre located on the on the second floor.
In an interview with Live FM, Public relations officer for the hospital Mustapha Salifu said the project is expected to be completed by end of October
