EASTER: “Kpando is the place to be”- Natives tout Easter plans
The Chiefs and people of Kpando say they are determined to make this year’s Easter festivities a memorable one.
Easter has always been big in Kpando. The folks however tell rawgist.com they are eager to return home, have fun and also contribute to the development of the area.
They explain that the Traditional Area has also taken bold steps towards making the festivities relevant to development.
An itinerary cited by rawgist.com reveals that the whole traditional area will undertake a massive cleanup exercise on Thursday 28th March, 2024. On the night of Friday 29th March, there will be a Borborbor Night where the traditional dance of the people of Kpando will be showcased. Saturday 30th March will see the Paramount Chief of the Area; Togbui Dagadu IX lead a health walk through some selected streets of the traditional area. The walk will be followed by a Health Screening Exercise to be championed by a group known as Akpini Giants for Development (AGAD) and then an evening of live band music organized by the Agbaza Group.
Sunday will be marked by a huge fundraising durbar scheduled for 1pm, which will seek to raise funds towards some development projects in the area. The live band music will continue on Sunday evening.
On Monday, the festivities will be wrapped up by an inter-community soccer game that will be held at the Kpando Technical Institute at 11am.
Alphonse Norvinyo Attah, a member of the Event Planning team for the Easter told rawgist.com that Kpando is the place to be this Easter. He also praised the leadership of the Traditional area for taking advantage of important festivities like the Easter to bring joy and development to the residents. He hopes Easter in Kpando will soon be the talk of the nation as there’s so much to see and experience in Kpando.
