Police Officers were furious when they responded to what turned out to be a hoax call at the Dakens Hostel at KNUST.
The armed officers who had responded to a distress call of armed robbery stormed the hostel only to find out nothing
of the sort had taken place.
The angry police officers explain that they had a call from a supposed student who requested in an urgent tone that the Police come to their rescue at the Dakens Hostel due to an armed robbery attack on them.
The Hostel Manager, known as Alhaji, however explained to rawgist.com that no armed robbers had been to the hostel.
He feared that if hoax calls like this continued, the Police might not respond in times of real danger.
“I tried to call the number that called the police and he said he did not mean Dakens Hostel but a hostel near Dakens Hostel”.
Several students outside the main campus have come under armed attack over an extended period. Students say they feel unsafe moving to their hostels when it gets dark especially when the power is out as is the case for some time now due to the country’s power crisis.
