Kwabena Adjei: I’m not sick; I’m strong and healthy

kwabena-adjeiIncumbent chairman of the National Democratic Congress, Dr. Kwabena Agyei, has rubbished speculations about his ill health, describing them as unfortunate.

As the campaign for the National chairman position heats up for this weekend’s congress to be held in Kumasi, the Ashanti regional capital, the health of the incumbent chairman has become a major issue.

His contenders argue that Dr. Adjei is not physically fit to run the affairs of the party to seek a third term in office.

But speaking to Starr News, Mr. Adjei said he is physically fit and ready to win power for the ruling party for the third consecutive time.

“I am a very healthy man, look I sit down here and I write till maybe 4 am, all to show this country that they have a leader of a difference,” Dr. Adjei said.

He added that it is unfortunate that his health had become a campaign message for his opponents.

“It’s bad, socially it’s worse and politically it is the last thing you must do to gain power. Have you heard me talk about anybody, about even the invectives they threw at me, the character assassination, I am a very strong man at my age but strength lies in the power of the beholder”.

Mr. Adjei is contesting former Trades and Industry Minister Dan Abodakpi and Kofi Poturphy, head of the National Disaster and Management Organisation, (NADMO).
