Delegates of the Kwadaso constituency will choose their parliamentary candidate on the lines of the Nana Addo and John Kwadwo Kyerematen alias Alan Cash factions.
Four candidates are aspiring for the Kwadaso parliamentary seat in the forthcoming primary.
Two of them, Mr. Vincent Yaw Frimpong Manu and Dr. Kingsley Nyarko, are seen to be Nana Addo “boys” having been given appointments by the current administration asDeputy Chief Executive Officer in charge of Development Projects and Operations andExecutive Secretary of the National Accreditation Board (NAB) respectively.
The other pair, Mrs. Hilda Addo, a former Member of Parliament and the incumbent MP, Dr. Samiu Kwadwo Nuamah, is identified as belonging to the Alan Cash faction.
They believe the incumbent MP has very little to show for the three years he has occupied the parliamentary seat while Mrs. Hilda Addo was unseated by Dr. Afriyie Akoto Osei.
She also managed 139 votes Mrs. Hilda Addo 139 votes in the Kwadaso NPP primaries in June 2015.
Mr. Manu, 43, is therefore currently tipped to unseat the incumbent having been endorsed by a section of delegates from the Kwadaso constituency who mobilized GHc2,000 to pick the nomination form on behalf of Mr. Vincent Yaw Frimpong Manu to contest the primaries of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Mr. Elliot Marfo, leader of the group of delegates explained that the gesture was to avoid a situation where party executives keep changing parliamentary candidates at their whims and caprices.
The delegates have described aspirant Manu as hard working and very functional in party activities towards the general development of the constituency.
He noted that over the years since the constituency was carved out of the Bantama constituency in 2004, party hierarchy in the constituency choose parliamentary candidates for consideration of delegates only to replace him with another candidate during elections thus depriving them of second terms and experience as law makers.
Mr. Marfo said the delegates have therefore decided to settle on Mr. Manu for the 2020 elections to avoid the machinations of party executives which have affected the constituency.
According to Marfo, constituency executives and the incumbent Member of Parliament are currently engaged in a conflict culminating in some wrangling hence the need to bring in a candidate capable of leading the party to save the situation and maintain the seat for the party.
