Lawyer, Lecturer fight re-nomination of KMA Chief Executive
Lawyer William Kusi and Mr. Aaron Kumah; a Senior Lecturer are leading a strong opposition to the re-nomination of Osei Assibey Antwi as KMA Chief Executive. They say he is the worst KMA boss in recent history.
They are convinced the KMA boss lacks initiative and all what it takes to develop the Metropolis. “All road projects ongoing are central government projects. In spite of all the tolls being taken, filth remains the order of the day in the metropolis. What has the assembly achieved under this leader? You only hear him talk when there is a problem” Mr. Aaron Kumah vented in an interview on Oyerepa FM and added that his sentiments are not borne of personal hatred since he believes the man is a fine gentleman. He however believes his current position is too big for him.
He went on to say however that the KMA head lacks leadership and suggested he be placed in a different position and a more competent person brought in to work with clearly defined benchmarks towards the rapid development of the metropolis.
For his part, Lawyer William Kusi said he could not pin point any relevant development in the area done by the KMA. Though he could not suggest who else is qualified, he warned the party not to make the mistake of bringing Mr. Osei Assibey Antwi back into the same office.
He accused the assembly of looking on unconcerned while wrong things including sale of assembly lands and indiscriminate citing of private property in unauthorized locations.
“The President should use his incompetence to demonstrate to other non-performing appointees that poor performance will not be tolerated” he admonished.
He emphasized the need for future chief executives to dissociate themselves from “chieftaincy”.
