Former Regional secretary of the NDC in the Ashanti Region. Hon. Joseph Yammin has said that the unnecessary attacks on the personality of the former C.E.O of COCOBOD, Dr. Stephen Opuni by the current NPP government is negative and must be condemned.
He argued that by his own personal checks and investigations into the matter, it is clear that there is no credible allegation in almost all the accusations leveled against Dr. Opuni.
According to Yammin, there is one allegation against him that he awarded wrong contracts to people. This was cross checked by the NPP government themselves and they realized that the said contracts were awarded legally by sole sourcing.
“Though I am one person who benefited nothing from him as C.E.O of COCOBOD, I think they are just harassing him to gain cheap political points”, he said asking Ghanaians to “call a spade a spade”.
“He has paid his due by serving our mother land and I think the NPP must leave him alone to enjoy his personal life”, Yammin opined.
