As the World celebrate fathers day today, the DCE of Tolon in the northern region, Hon Seidu Abubakari has advised his colleague fathers to invest in their children’s future rather than spending their money on lotto, funerals and alcohol.
He says some father’s ignore their children and shirk their responsibilities to them leaving the mothers with the heavy burden of catering for the children.
“In fact some of us fathers don’t deserve to be called fathers because many of us don’t even think of our children”, he said and explained the importance of fatherly care and love to a child’s development.
He wished all responsible fathers a happy fathers’ day and called on the nation to take fatherhood seriously for its peculiar role in family cohesion and nation building.
